NOVI SAD — European Parliament (EP) rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin has stated that the “Kosovo or the EU” dilemma is false.
In an article published by Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik, Kacin said that progress in the dialogue with Priština, including solutions to the customs stamp issue, was expected from Belgrade.
“Obstacles in trade with Kosovo would that way be removed, organized crime would be disabled and corruption would be curbed,” the EP rapporteur stressed.
He added that every talk between him and Serbian representatives started with the “Kosovo or the EU” question.
“We have to have understanding for such questions but it is counterproductive to answer something that the EU is not dealing with at all at the moment,” Kacin concluded.
