Belgrade must give up from the north of Kosovo
German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, soon will visit Serbia. It is expected that Merkel will support the idea that the territorial integrity of Kosovo remains a matter of doubt for Germany.
Western diplomats and analysts in Belgrade expressed the confidence that the German Chancellor will ask the Serbian authorities to refrain from northern Kosovo.
Ten days before the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in Belgrade, Foreign Minister of her government, Guido Westerwelle, has called on five European Union countries that have not recognized Kosovo to do so. While in Pristina, he stressed that the territorial integrity of Kosovo remains a matter of doubt for Germany.
Western diplomats have no doubt that the German Chancellor will repeat the same attitude to the Serbian President, Boris Tadic and other interlocutors in Belgrade, writes Radio Free Europe today.
