…The answer on that question is: There are no limits! In order to survive politically (and probably physically) this the most unpopular regime in the recent Serbian history (according to statistics), had set no restraints on its crackdown on basic human freedoms and political rights of its own citizens- not to mention virtually non-existing media freedoms in nowadays Serbia.
In the most recent political “non-sense” move and politically motivated “absurdist” court order, this regime really went too far. Too far according to many legal experts, that even the Serbian regime’ Western masters are “washing their hands” from such undemocratic practice…
So what happened here? The Serbian government has issued court orders to shot down a number of Twitter accounts, owned by Serbian users from abroad and at home. Soon after that, the Serbian (Tadic’) regime approached the Twitter Corporation with the official request to close these accounts!
The reason? According to Tadic’ regime (Serbian president), the users were making mockery of government officials, and they had to be shot down. Yes, you heard it right! They actually didn’t do anything unlawful, they didn’t instigate violence, neither had they spread hatred- they were just making fun of unpopular, dictatorial and according to many “Monty-Python” type Serbian leaders. And because of that, they had to be shot down, especially if we take to the consideration coming spring elections for the new Serbian government. …But believe me, there will be more crackdowns on basic human and political freedoms in this small Balkanian country, under (informal) NATO occupation.
The real question is: How come that, “democratic” Western countries tolerate such practice in the country under “their control”? Just bear in your mind, the EU & USA (NATO countries), defeated in 1999 Serbian president Milosevic, through illegal NATO bombing campaign- then they instigated inside Serbia the “orange revolution”, and eventually brought to the power pro-western government, which is today presented by the very unpopular, and increasingly dictatorial president Boris Tadic (we can say freely that Georgian president Shakashvilli is, comparing to the Serbian president Tadic, real “Mother Theresa”).
If you look at the record of human rights, personal, political and media freedoms in nowadays Serbia, you probably would wander, why Serbia is not on the same black list with “dictatorial” regimes in Libya, Syria, Iran, etc? The answer is simple- for the same reason as Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, UAR, Dubai… are not. These countries, including Serbia, serve primarily the Western interests in the region, and then secondarily the interests of own citizens. And it works very well- of course for the “Western civilization”.
The human rights record in Serbia, we are here talking about, is disastrous, such disastrous, that many western humanitarian organisations and even the governments, including EU, are more frequently, and more openly criticizing the Serbian regime for its crackdown on human rights and independent media in Serbia.
There are real good reasons for that. Serbia has the most restrictive and most un-democratic media law in Europe- which suits only the needs of Tadic’ regime. Serbia also has the youngest prison population in this part of the world, made up, not from the criminals, but mostly from the political opponents- in other words in Serbian “medieval” type prisons are “housed” (in four digit numbers) the youngest political prisoners in Europe, some of them even kids!?
The shameful list doesn’t end here… Serbian Parliament, controlled by Tadic, voted two years ago, a law, that allows for surveillance (without court order) of all internet and electronic (tele-comunications) traffic. More recently they introduced, probably the most draconian Criminal Code in Europe, which effectively gives the power to the regime police to arrest and imprison people, for up to a month (without court order) just on suspicion that they are threat to the “public law and order”!?
Today they prosecute people for wearing publicly any national symbol, even the official Serbian national flag. A couple years ago, on the day American Vice-president Joe Biden visited Belgrade, they arrested young man, at the city main square, just for reading loudly traditional Orthodox Christian prayer. We have to mention, that at the time of the prayer, American Vice-president didn’t even arrive yet in Belgrade.
There is growing discontent between the Serbian regime and its people…
…As I mentioned before, the present Serbian regime, was brought to the power with “the help” of Western powers. That “help” was executed through the covert intelligence operations, supported financially with over 60 million dollars, mostly from the American government, but Germans and British were generous too…
In return, the Western powers expect Serbian regime to be cooperative and obedient, which they are of course, even exceeding expectations from their Western masters. That is where; the above discontent between regime and its own people- grow stronger every day, and threaten to develop into the full scale people’s revolution. This time spontaneous, and by that definition, far more dangerous. …And far more unpredictable, then the previous one (in 2001), staged by the Western powers.
Serbian people have every right to be unhappy. In the last decade, pro-Western Serbian regime, has traded Serbian territory and sovereignty, in order to just politically survive (with Western support), and practically not gaining anything in return for own country and own people. Just empty promises from the Western powers, which are here following only own Balkanian agenda. That agenda is economical colonisation and more importantly (for USA and EU) “NATOisation” of entire Balkans.
For the creators of this agenda, Serbian nation was just an obstacle on that road, and for them was very important to dismember and disable entire Serbian nation. They practically achieved that goal, by creating conditions for ethnic cleansing of almost entire Serbian population from Croatia and Kosovo during 1990-ies wars, and even creating “independent Albanian state” in Serbian’ Kosovo & Metohija- Next to another Albanian state: Republic of Albania!?
Furthermore, they (Western powers) are already creating new crisis spots inside Serbia, and setting new stages for another separatist movements and future “independent states” within the Serbia proper. The objective is to completely disable Serbian nation, which they consider to be too independent, and too inclined to brotherly Slavic Russia- which for the some key players on the West, is still the same old “Cold War” enemy.
To accomplish this agenda, they needed the help from the Serbian servile regime, and they are getting it. We can say freely, they are getting much more in return, than they expected. Serbian regime role in “all of this” is very simple. Their job is to keep Serbian people sedated with the great dream of “near” prospect of joining the prosperous European Union. How this political creature (EU) is really “prosperous”, we can see in the daily headline news, lately.
For the “sake” of that dream, Serbian regime completely neglected the country’s economy, sold out almost all of the national resources, gave up the big chunk of own territory- and resorted to daily survival, by borrowing more and more money, from the same European bankers that are today bringing down Greece, Spanish, Italian, Irish, etc… economies. Not to mention, that EU has no real intention of allowing Serbia to join EU. They are just using this “dream” as a carrot, in their “carrot and stick” blackmail game with the corrupted Serbian government. …And, even if that happens by some miracle, this is going to be only at the time when everybody else will be running away from the sinking “EU Titanic”.
As more and more Serbian people are getting aware of these facts, and as they are getting angrier at the Serbian “traitor” regime; The regime itself is getting more and more desperate- and as we could see in the latest crackdown on Twitter accounts, more and more irrational. That all makes this regime very dangerous for own people and for own country- but very dangerous for itself too!
It is obvious, that some “people” had learned nothing from the glorious and bloody Serbian history. They never learned the fact, that Serbian people always valued more freedom and independence, then the anything else… Even, if these patriotic feelings were suppressed through the decades of communist dictatorship and its brainwashing- and more recently through “Euro-Atlantic” dictatorship and their brainwashing, executed of course with the help of traitorous Tadic’ regime; These feelings are now coming again to the surface in Serbia, and once the Serbian people are “awaken”, nothing in the Balkans will be the same as before…
